Sheffield Voluntary, Community, Faith & Social Enterprise Leaders Forum
VAS has brought together several anchor organisations representing the sector at a city level. We wanted to work together to challenge the inequalities in Sheffield highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic and break down barriers that have historically excluded black-led* (non-white) organisations in the city.
*“Black” meaning all members who self-identify as Black, Asian or any other ‘minority ethnic’ groups who do not identify themselves a white, including Gypsy and Roma non-white people.
Current members: Olivier Tsemo (SADACCA); Debbie Mathews (MCDT); Abdul Shaif (ACT and Hadfield Institute); Clare Lodder (Citizens Advice Sheffield); Gulnaz Hussain (Firvale Community Hub); Adam Yusuf (ISRAAC); Matt Dean (ZEST); Shahid Ali (PMC); Maddy Desforges (VAS); Josie Soutar (Sheffield Flourish)
