Frontline Workers’
Network

Project Partners

The Frontline Workers’ Network is made up of staff or volunteers delivering frontline services directly to communities. This network enables frontline workers to access support. By attending these facilitated sessions, they are able to talk to other frontline workers, share, support and connect with each other. This space is their opportunity to meet regularly, catch up and network. VAS facilitates this network at the Circle.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the increase and demand of the voluntary and community sector frontline workers to deal with unprecedented issues and mental health complexities increased significantly, both in providing adequate support and signposting to their communities and managing their own mental health and safety.

VAS has continued these conversations and drawn down funding which has enabled frontline workers to access mental health first aid training but also evidenced the need for continued peer support.

We would like to see frontline workers feeling supported, valued, and motivated in their roles. We know that improved well-being leads to reduced burnout and higher job retention as well as better decision-making and service delivery for the individuals and communities they support.

By supporting the valuable work that frontline workers carry out Sheffield could have a strengthened voluntary sector workforce with higher morale and job satisfaction.

The Frontline Workers’ Network is a valuable dedicated time and space.
