About us

We focus on community impact, influence decision makers and champion volunteering as a force for positive action.

We’re proud to have been at the heart of our community for almost 100 years, championing the incredible work of the voluntary and community sector. Our mission is to empower local organisations and individuals to create positive social change, and we believe that together, we can make a real difference in Sheffield.

Our impact is felt across the city, where we support over 1,000 groups each year, helping them navigate challenges and take advantage of opportunities. From providing essential training and resources to fostering collaboration among communities, we are dedicated to building a vibrant and resilient voluntary sector.

In the past year alone, we have focused on responding to urgent community needs, such as supporting those affected by the rising cost of living and facilitating access to vital services. Our initiatives, like the Welcoming Spaces Map, have connected individuals with crucial resources, ensuring no one feels alone in their struggles.

We actively listen to the voices of our communities, working hand-in-hand with local leaders to amplify their concerns and advocate for change. By investing in grassroots organisations and nurturing new community leaders, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

1,300

Refugees supported by the
SPRING Project.

We proudly supported 1,300 refugees as they settled into their new lives in Sheffield. The SPRING Project provides crucial assistance to individuals who have received “leave to remain,” helping them access essential services such as housing, benefits, and healthcare.

Beyond addressing immediate needs, the SPRING Project focuses on long-term integration, offering support for learning English, volunteering opportunities, and pathways to employment.

By fostering a welcoming environment and connecting refugees with local resources, we empower them to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to our vibrant community.

12,750

Payslips were provided to the voluntary and community sector for the year.

Providing 12,750 payslips to the voluntary and community sector made a real difference for local organisations here in Yorkshire. By streamlining payroll processes, we helped these groups focus on what they do best—supporting our communities. Timely and accurate payslips ensure that staff are paid on time, which is vital for maintaining morale and stability.

20,000

Families connected to Sheffield Healthy Holidays.

We connected 20,000 families to Sheffield Healthy Holidays, ensuring that children can enjoy a host of fun and engaging activities during the school breaks. This initiative provides free access to a variety of activities, from hula-hooping in the park to family cook-offs, all designed to promote health and well-being.

By bringing families together and offering nutritious meals, we’re not just tackling holiday hunger; we’re creating joyful experiences that help children thrive and build lasting connections within our community.
