Sheffield Project for Refugee INtegration and Growth (SPRING)
SPRING is a collaboration of six organisations helping refugees settle into the local community.
We help refugees when they receive “leave to remain” status and need support accessing housing, benefits, and immigration advice. We also help with practical issues such as opening a bank account and registering with a GP.
After addressing the immediate needs, SPRING continues to stand by refugees, providing long-term support for their integration journey. This includes learning English, finding routes into volunteering, education, training, and securing employment, paving the way for a brighter future.
We understand that coping with the trauma that can come from being a refugee can be incredibly difficult. We can provide some support for those who have experienced trauma. Additionally, we can direct you to a variety of activities that support mental and physical well-being across Sheffield.

How to refer to SPRING
If you would like to make a referral to SPRING:
- Download the form at the bottom of this page
- Email it to Blessan K Babu
Once we receive the referral, we will contact the individual. Please note that our services are very busy, so let us know if you feel there is an urgent need for support.
Our support is designed to be flexible, delivered remotely via phone, video, and in-person, depending on the unique circumstances of each individual.
The Sanctuary is open, and walk-in support is available Monday – Thursday, 10am – 4pm.
Every individual will be warmly welcomed at The Sanctuary, where they strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment. We will go through a simple assessment form to identify their short and long term needs, as well as understand how we can help them. We then support the individual to engage with our partner services, as appropriate.
